PPM Sweeps Watkins Glen Weekend In Lamborghini Super Trofeo Pro-AM, AM Classes
Yorktown, VA (June 28, 2023) Precision Performance Motorsports Sweeps Watkins Glen Weekend in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Pro-AM and AM classes, and retains the lead in the Team Championship.
The race weekend in the finger lakes region of New York, at Watkins Glen International Raceway, was victorious for the PPM and Lamborghini Palm Beach team. After successful practice sessions, PPM qualified on pole in the Pro-AM and AM classes, despite red flag interruptions in both sessions.
In the Pro-AM class, the No.46 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Evo 2, driven by John Henry Capestro Dubets and Tom Capizzi, qualified P1 for Race 1 and P4 for Race 2. The No. 47 driven by Mo Dadkhah and Cole Loftsgard qualified P9 for Race 1, climbing up to P3 for Race 2. In the AM class, David Staab qualified P1 for Race 1 and P4 for Race 2. Tyler Hoffman and Wesley Silmp qualified P2 for Race 1 and P5 for Race 2. The No. 69 driven by Anthony Mcintosh and Glenn McGee qualified P4 for Race 1, and P1 for Race 2. The No.45 with Rob Walker and Chris Tasca qualified P10 for Race 1 and P6 for Race 2. All Race 2 starting positions were set based on practice times due to an extended red flag in the second qualifying session.
Round 3 of the season kicked off Friday after qualifying. JCD maintained the lead in class in the No.46 before handing over to Capizzi. The duo ultimately finished P1, followed by No.47 in P7 in class. In the No.48, solo driver David Staab showcased stellar pace, holding the lead throughout the race and finishing P1 in the AM class, followed by the No.69 in P2, No.45 in P7, and No.9 in P8.
The momentum carried over to Saturday’s Round 4 as team PPM continued to dominate the Pro-AM and AM classes. The No.46 finished P1, landing Capizzi and Dubets a complete Pro-AM podium sweep for the race weekend. No.47 finished P5 in class. PPM dominated the AM podium as well, with Hoffman and Slimp finishing P1, taking their first victory of the year. Close behind followed the No.69 in P2, No.48 in P3, and No.45 in P8.

After the Race Weekend at Watkins Glen, Dubets and Capizzi lead the Pro-AM driver Championship, Staab leads the AM championship, PPM leads the Team Championship, and Lamborghini Palm Beach leads the Dealer Championship.
