PPM will be campaigning the same Lamborghini Huracan GT3 that drove to a Pirelli World Challenge GT podium finish in Portland this season. PPM is Lamborghini’s sole representation in the GT3 category for the California 8 Hour.
Piloting the raging bull are PPM regulars, Super Trofeo co-drivers and former Champions, Shinya Michimi and Brandon Gdovic. Joining the young duo is Steve Dunn, who drove the #47 PPM Super Trofeo Huracan at Road America
; Dunn showed great pace right from the first session, and secured two class pole positions .
“I’m very excited for my first GT race in a Huracan with PPM. I’m paired with two of the fastest pros in the business and can’t wait!” says Dunn, who will be making his International GT debut at the California 8 Hour.
Michimi, the 2016 Super Trofeo Champion, added “I’m looking forward to race at the California 8 Hour alongside Brandon and Steve in the PPM Huracan GT3. Brandon and I have had strong performances in Super Trofeo all season, and with the addition of Steve for this race in the GT3 car, I believe we can get a strong result here as well.”
In addition to the driver’s excitement for the event, Team Owner Rick Gdovic adds “We’ve had great success in our first season as a sports car team, with wins, three pole positions, a track record at Road America and a GT3 podium at Portland. We’ve worked very hard to get the right people in the right places, and it’s paid dividends for our team. GT3 endurance racing is the next logical step for our team, and I believe we are ready to show well in California.” Gdovic continued “”We have great group of leaders that Kelly Gdovic and I are so appreciative to have on board and It has truly has been a collaborative effort.”
While this is the team’s first endurance race, the team comes with experienced personnel whose accolades include multiple Daytona 24 wins, as well as wins in the 12 Hours of Sebring, 6 Hours at the Glen, and Petit Le Mans and multiple IMSA North American Endurance Championship titles.
