Precision Performance Motorsports finds Victory at Road America

PLYMOUTH,W.I., (AUGUST 12TH, 2022) PPM has once again secured podium finishes for rounds 7 and 8 of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo NA series at Road America, maintaining the points lead in AM, closing in on the lead in the ProAm championship.

The race weekend at Road America commenced with effective practice and qualifying sessions Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday setting the tone for an extraordinarily successful race weekend.

Bryson Lew and John Henry Capestro- Dubets qualified P3 in class for race 1, and P1 in class for race 2 in the #46. Sebastian Carazo in the #47 qualified P2 in class for race 1 and P2 for race 2.

Reger and Staab, in the #48 qualified P4 in class for race 1 and P1 for race 2.A caution-filled race 1 took place on Saturday with minimal green flag laps before the pitstop, coupled with the finish ending under caution. With Lew starting from P3, and with Dubet’s takeover, the #46 managed to climb to P1 in class by the end of the race landing a P1 finish, giving the duo their third win in class of the season. Driving solo, Carazo in the #47 had stellar pace, finishing P2 in ProAM. In the #48, Staab and Reger proceeded to move forward for the duration of the race thanks to a great start by Staab who then handed off to Reger. Reger managed to take the lead in his stint, finishing P1 in class.

Weather conditions were uncertain for race 2 on Sunday. The race began with dry conditions until the rain came just after the pit window opened, resulting in a red flag. Teams were called to pit road to change to wet tires. The #47 pitted immediately on the first lap of the window, as the #46 and #48 stayed out. The #46 made it onto pit road before the yellow. The #48 missed getting on to pit road before the caution came out by a few seconds resulting in a drive-through penalty once green was called. The #48 and #47 were unlucky strategy-wise due to the timing of the full course caution. The caution resulted in the entire field having to slow down, so the cars that pitted on the second lap were able to come out ahead of the cars that pitted on the first lap.

Despite the red and tricky conditions, Dubets managed to get the #46 in the overall lead before coming to pit road. Lew did an excellent job restarting P2 overall leading the #46 to another P1 finish in class and P3 overall. After Road America, Staab and Reger of the #48 hold P1 in AM for championship points, Lew and Dubets of the #46 are P2 in ProAM, and Carazo and Ortiz of the #47 are P3 in ProAM.Rounds 9 & 10 of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Season resume at VIR August 26th-28th.Thank you to our sponsors Lamborghini Palm Beach, HCB Yachts, and Ideal Nutrition for their continued support! For Team updates and information follow @Precisionperf on Instagram and Precision Performance Motorsports on Facebook or visit PPM646.com
