China Grove, North Carolina (June 29, 2015) –Viva Motorsports has sold substantially all of its stock car racing assets to Precision Performance Motorsports of Yorktown, Va. PPM competes and provides comprehensive driver development and race car rental programs in multiple NASCAR series, including the K&N Pro Series, Whelen All American Series, Whelen Southern Modified Series, and Asphalt Modifieds. PPM is owned by businessman and race car driver, Richard Gdovic. Gdovic first came to motorsports as a team sponsor in 2003. In the years since he has grown to become an accomplished driver, coach and a multi-level team owner.
PPM will move its K&N program from Virginia into the facility currently occupied by Viva. Current PPM Team Manager and Lead Engineer Charles Denike will take over day-to-day management at the North Carolina location and Mark Setzer will continue as Crew Chief. The plans are for Brandon Gdovic and drivers to be named to compete for PPM in selected NASCAR Xfinity Series races for the balance of this season. Efforts are underway to secure additional sponsorship and drivers so PPM can field the best team possible for the 2016 season.
PPM will be representing its sponsor partners in the Xfinity Series, including Fronius USA, American Mes-saging, WindStax Wind Power Systems and ComServe Verizon Wireless.
“We are excited about the purchase of Viva’s operation,” said new team owner Richard Gdovic. “They have continued to build their race assets and reputation over the past few years. We plan to continue their drive to become a top-level Xfinity Series operation that offers great value for our sponsorship partners and another step up the ladder for our driver development program. Because of PPM’s success developing young talent, we are receiving significant interest in our training programs. The seats for next season are filling quickly. We will continue our Late Model and Modified programs from Yorktown while keeping the K&N and Xfinity programs in China Grove.”
